its not hard to install new carpet in a motorhome. i did mine in a 1978 chevy g30 21 foot shasta. i laid the padding, cut it to fit. took it up, used a nice peice from a bedroom of a sunken house boat (which was still dry), used the padding as a cutting form, cut the carpet to size, put it in the motorhome, nailed the shoe molding back down, had it done in less than 2 hours and it looks fantastic.

We want to replace the front salon carpet in our 2000 Windsor. Estimates from the RV Doctors in Las Vegas @ 1560.00 and an independent @ 2600.00. Materials cost is less than $300.00. We want a quality installation but feel these installation costs are about double to triple what the job should cost. Any suggestions on locating a good installer??

not hard at all. did my holiday rambler 33 for about 250 bucks material (find a great remnant from any shop) Hardest part is tear out which is a dirty job. You will not believe how much dirt gets under the padding (looks like black sand and lots of it). Tear in pieces if you like although some folks utility knife the whole thing around the edges and use as a template. Put down padding (good electric staple gun or a carpet stapler is even better) lay down carpet, staple perimeter and I usually cover the perimeter with quarter round molding which does an nice job. You might also need a kicker but usually not since it will lay down pretty flat and not like if you are stretching a carpet across a 20x20 foot room.
