i have the same problem. I have a 2001 Echo which I like to tow but everybody I talk with said the same thing, you cannot tow a 2001 echo that has an automatic. Can a 2001 echo be tow on a can dolly?

I want to tow a 2001 Toyota Echo with my motorhome. Most hitch manufacturers offer a tow plate for the Echo but I am hearing from the installers that Echo's cannot be towed flat under any circumstances (even with a fluid pump added). Is there anyone out there who has sucessfully towed an Echo and if so, what alterations did you have to make?
