I purchased a motor home that pulled a chevrolet tracker. I tried to purchase the Tracker also but they wanted to keep it. They had no problems pulling it straight. I got the Road Master Stow Master 5000 and the brackets with the motor home. I don't need the brackets if anyone needs them. I just purchased the brackets for my Mazda Miata. Contact me if you are interested in purchasing them at half price. Alanholmes@prodigy.net Thanks, Alan

Hello,
It sounds like the manufacturer is trying to cover for their error. Towing alignment is very important. If the tow vehicle and the towed vehicle do not track straight you can also experience control problems that can be even more disasterous than just tire wear. I know of someone who was killed when they lost control of their vehicle in a scenario similar to yours.
I was wondering why the manufacturer will not warranty the defect when they have obviously already admitted it exists?
I was considering buying this tow bar but now I am having second thoughts. I would ask for an exchange since customer satisfaction is supposed to be the foremost concern.(?)
I really appreciate this aspect of the internet(customer feedback)since it is a true indicator of both a manufacturer's true motives and the actual quality of their product.
Regards, Patrick

Subject: Roadmaster Tracker coupler weld problem?

I just purchased a Roadmaster Tracker tow bar and installed it on a Jeep Wrangler with their base plate. All looked OK until I noticed that the ball coupler looked like it was not at 90 degrees from my bumper. I took it off the Jeep and realized that it appeared the coupler was not welded on straight. It appears to be about 3 degrees from what I would call center. I called Roadmaster and even sent them pictures. They say it's normal and they have several that look like that and not to worry because the Jeep will track to line up with the off-center coupler. Whoa! Their the experts and the manufacturer, but I would think that sure, the front tires may turn to compensate, the the back tires would dog-walk a bit causing wear. Sure enough, after about 200 miles, it appears that I have outside wear on the rear-drivers tire and inside wear on the rear-passenger tire. Should I challenge the manufacturer? Has anyone had a similar issue with a Tracker tow bar? Any advice is appreciated. Tim Wood
